Camden is a city of strength, history, and resilience—but there’s much more to its story than what makes the headlines.

Join us for a Driving Tour of Camden, led by UrbanPromise alumni who grew up here and can offer a firsthand perspective on the systems, challenges, and opportunities that shape the city.

We’ll explore the forces that impact Camden—from education and corporations to public safety and environmental justice—while also hearing stories of resilience, community, and what’s possible.

In 1997, UrbanPromise Academy opened in a 600-square-foot row home—with closet-sized classrooms, one bathroom, donated textbooks, and educators who refused to believe the statistics were the final word.

They believed that when young people are known, challenged, encouraged, and loved, they can flourish.

They were right.

Today, hundreds of alumni are building meaningful lives—including Jenniffer Lopez, who credits UrbanPromise with helping shape her future.

Now, 150 students are counting on us.

We’re raising $100,000 to keep tuition affordable and provide exceptional teachers, small classes, transformational experiences, and a safe, faith-centered education.
And right now, your gift can go twice as far. The first $48,000 given by September 30 will be matched dollar-for-dollar.

Our schools start back up tomorrow! 📚🎒

Before the new school year begins, we want to take a moment to say thank you to all of the amazing individuals, churches, and companies who donated school supplies.

You didn’t just give supplies—you rallied your communities, gave generously, and helped make sure our students have what they need to start the year strong.

And when we say everyone, we mean everyone. Whether you dropped off supplies, mailed them in, or welcomed us to pick them up, your generosity made a difference.

Thank you for thinking of our students and for helping us prepare for another incredible school year. We’re excited for what’s ahead! ❤️📚

And as we consider this upcoming school year, we wanted to offer a chance for our UrbanPromise community to connect with some really amazing supports and resources in the broader Camden community. Community Day 2026 will be on August 27th from 3pm to 6pm. Anyone who is interested can attend - you don’t even have to be enrolled in an UrbanPromise program! We will have opportunities for families to connect with each other through games, crafts, and food. Breaking bread together is a beautiful practice to bring loved ones together. We will also have school supplies to hand out (youth must be present) and all sorts of community connections to share. See you there!

Last Day.🥹 Just like that, camp is over. ❤️

Today is bittersweet—filled with hugs, happy tears, and hearts full of memories we’ll carry long after summer ends.

We’re so grateful for every camper, teen leader, volunteer, staff member, and family who made this season so special. The friendships, the laughter, the adventures, and the love shared each day are the kind of moments that shape lives in ways words never fully can.

Our campus will be a little quieter over the next few weeks, but our hearts are full. Thank you for an unforgettable summer. ☀️

All Camp Day 2026 is a wrap! 🏆🎉
What camp do you think won?

Every year, our camps amaze us with their creativity, energy, and team spirit—and this year was no exception. From hilarious competitions and nonstop cheering to mountains of candy and unforgettable moments, everyone gave it their all in the race for the coveted Golden Crate.

A huge thank you to our incredible program staff, StreetLeaders, campers, and volunteers for making this tradition possible. Your enthusiasm and heart are what make this day so special.

It’s hard to put All Camp Day into words. It’s loud. It’s joyful. It’s unforgettable. It’s a tradition that brings our entire UrbanPromise family together—and one our campers will remember for years to come. 💙💛❤️🤍
