Jackson School Jackson School, located in the Kershaw County School District, serves 4K-5th grade students. The "green" features in the school are countless.

Jackson School is the first school in the county to pursue leadership in energy and environmental design (LEED Certification). Jackson School is the first Gold Certified LEED school in the state. To become LEED certified, buildings are awarded points based on anything that would make a building "green", which includes water conservation, air quality, waste, construction, energy use, etc. This year, Jackson is starting a new journey implementing the 7 Habits of Happy Kids, using the books the Leader in Me and the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. The 7 Habits that we are all using in our lives are:
1) Be Proactive: You are responsible for yourself.
2) Begin with the End in Mind: Have a plan
3) Put First Things First: Work first, play later.
4) Think Win/Win: Everyone can win.
5) Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood: Listen before you talk.
6) Synnergize: Together is better.
7) Sharpen the Saw: Balance is best.

🌮🍕 Food Trucks + Decimals = Delicious Learning! 🍔🧁

Today, our fifth graders brought math to life with a Food Truck Decimal Activity! Students explored decimals using food truck menus, prices, and receipts. They practiced adding and subtracting decimals, calculating totals, and working with money, all while creating real-world food orders! 🧾💵

It was so much fun watching students see how the decimal skills we are learning in class connect to everyday life. Who knew math could be this tasty?! 🌭➕🍟 = ❤️

Career Day was a huge success at Jackson School! 🌟 A big thank you to our school counselor, Mrs. Hammett, for organizing such a wonderful experience, and to our incredible community for showing up for our Jackson Bears! 💙
From the Fire Department, Sheriff’s Office, SCDOT, Alpha Center, and so many more, our students had the opportunity to explore equipment, ask questions, and learn firsthand about a variety of careers. 🚒🚓🐾 We are so grateful to everyone who helped show our students just how many exciting possibilities could be waiting in their futures! 🐻✨
