The Community Leadership Center is a service and research center at Rutgers-Camden. The Early Learning Research Academy is an early childhood center for infants, toddlers and preschoolers in Camden City.
Welcome to the Early Learning Research Academy (ELRA), an early childhood development and research center at Rutgers University–Camden. ELRA serves a population of 126 infants, toddlers and preschoolers each year in state-of-the-art classrooms. Its holistic model provides these children and their families with the early cognitive and socio-emotional development needed to eliminate the achievement gap for urban, minority youth. In addition, ELRA’s research unit collaborates with national experts from Rutgers and other universities to conduct applied research studies on childhood development and adds indispensable research to the national discussion on early childhood education. The mission of the Early Learning Research Academy is to enhance the future school success of Camden City children from birth through age five by providing high-quality, research-based education and comprehensive wellness services while improving research and best practices in early childhood development and education. At ELRA, Preparing for College Begins at Birth!
It's a wonderful day for learning and playing with your favorite teachers at the Early Learning Research Academy! Thank to you to our parents for sharing these smiles with us.
We are overjoyed to watch our Early Learning Research Academy toddlers continue to learn at home with support from their dedicated teachers and parents.
Children at the Rutgers Early Research Academy (ELRA) transition to Remote Learning
Due to the Corona Virus public health crises and because we are very concerned with the health of all our children, families, the Rutgers Community Leadership Center will close its doors for all programs. Children enrolled in the preschool and infant/toddlers program at ELRA will be engaging in remote instruction guided by our teachers and staff. CLC Administrative Staff will be telecommuting and available from their homes. LEAP Academy will also closed its school effective March 18, 2020 through March 30, 2020. We will be posting notices on our ELRA, LEAP and CLC website for further updates and with information about the possibility of having to extend the closure beyond March 30. We are cancelling all events and ask that you go online for instructions for all our children. We all have the responsibility to avoid the contagious COVID-19. We want to come back to our normal work schedules safe and healthy.
