Able to Teach is a page committed to empowering any family desiring to homeschool their children! Gently instruct those who oppose the truth.

The name of this page is inspired by these verses from 2 Timothy:
"A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people. Perhaps God will change those people’s hearts, and they will learn the truth." 2 Timothy 2:24-25

We need more down-to-earth online spaces to explore the in's and out's of homeschooling with less competitio

You’ll need your own container or will have to purchase one. They also have picnic tables and small play area if you’d like to bring a lunch. Invite a homeschool friend or two! 🫐

Next Tuesday (6/24) we’re going to the farm! Please join us! We’re meeting at 10am at EZs Rescue Ranch (202 Kendrick Rd. Sicklerville, NJ 08081).

A quick peak at homeschooling during the middle school years: 👀

We did an impromptu civics/current events lesson today in light of President Trump’s tariffs that went into effect today.

We watched this video (see link below) to better understand what they are. This led to a conversation about some of the other major happenings in our country over the last few weeks.

We discussed how each of these situations will impact the average American as well as America’s relationships with her allies.

As a follow-up assignment, my kiddos were tasked with choosing which of these four topics (see below) they’d like to further research in order to gain more understanding. They’ll share what they learn on Thursday.

I encouraged them to find articles and videos from a variety of sources since the news outlets can either lean towards being more liberal, conservative, or independent. I asked them to try to figure out which perspective the news was coming from.

** For context my kids that did this lesson are 11 (6th grade) and 13 (8th grade).

I’ve been on a partial social media break so I’ve been somewhat quiet-ish…

But I’m really excited for the newest semester of our homeschool co-op, which starts THIS Friday!!! 🥳🥳🥳

We have an amazing group of families and some equally amazing hands-on and engaging classes in store!

Please spread the word if you or anyone you know is looking for a homeschool group that celebrates the uniqueness of both a Christian and Black and Brown homeschool experience. If so, Able to Teach Homeschool Families focuses on enrichment through building lasting relationships with other homeschooling families who want to teach their children together. 🫶🏾
