Wilcox County School Board Attends AASB 2026 Fall Conference

The Wilcox County School Board was proud to participate in the Alabama Association of School Boards (AASB) 2026 Fall Conference: “Leadership for Community Engagement”, held October 4–5, 2026.

The conference provided an opportunity for board members and school leadership to strengthen their knowledge, collaborate with education leaders from across Alabama, and explore effective strategies for engaging families and communities in support of student success.

The Wilcox County School System Transportation Department proudly recognizes Tammie Pettway as our School Bus Driver of the Month.

Tammie was asked to cover a double route, and without hesitation, she stepped up to ensure our boys and girls got home safely. This demonstrates her dependability, dedication, and commitment to student safety.

The Wilcox County School Board attended the Alabama Association of School Boards (AASB) District 2 Meeting on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Wallace Community College.

We are proud to share that the Wilcox County School Board was recognized for 100% of its members completing the state-mandated meeting requirements!

This recognition demonstrates our board’s commitment to continuous professional development, effective governance, and, most importantly, serving the students, families, and communities of Wilcox County.

Today, the Wilcox County Public School System proudly kicked off the 2026–2027 school year with an inspiring Professional Development Day centered around our theme:

“Adventure Awaits: Moving Forward with Purpose – A Year of Possibilities.”

Faculty and staff from across the district came together for a day of learning, collaboration, and renewed commitment to the success of every student.

As we prepare to welcome our students on Wed, Aug 5, 2026, we are excited about the opportunities ahead and remain committed to providing a safe, engaging, and high-quality learning environment where every child can thrive.

Here’s to a year filled with purpose, growth, innovation, and excellence!

Good evening, WCPSS Family!

Per Dr. Andre P. Saulsberry, Superintendent of the Wilcox County Public School System.

I hope you’ve enjoyed a restful and refreshing summer. This is a friendly reminder that our Professional Development Day, originally scheduled to be held at Wilcox Central High School, has been relocated to Camden School of Arts & Technology (CSAT).

Please join us on Monday, August 3rd. Doors will open at 7:00 a.m., check-in will be from 7:15 to 7:25 a.m., and the program will begin promptly at 7:30 a.m.

Our theme this year is “Adventure Awaits: Moving Forward with Purpose – A Year of Possibilities.” I look forward to seeing each of you as we begin another outstanding school year together.

Thank you for your dedication to the students and families of Wilcox County.
