🪂 Mrs. Gulley-Smith’s eighth-grade students designed and built parachutes to investigate how gravity and air resistance affect falling objects. Students put scientific concepts into action as they created, tested, and observed their designs!

🎯 Careers aren’t built by finding one “perfect passion.” Ms. Edwards’ seventh-grade Career Orientation students worked in groups to examine different careers and experiences, discuss what they learned, and share their observations.

Through the activity, students discovered how experiences, skills, interests, and opportunities can all help shape their future paths!

🪣 Science in motion!

Mrs. Gulley-Smith’s eighth-grade students swung a bucket of water in a circular motion to observe whether the water would fall out. This hands-on experiment allowed students to explore forces in action and connect classroom learning to a memorable real-world experience!

📚🌎 **WORLDWIDE NEWS COMES TO CFMS!** 📰

Mr. Purifoy’s students are showing us that learning can happen in creative and engaging ways! During their most recent project, students stepped into the role of journalists and created their own news stories and reports. 🎤📝

From current events to school policies, students researched topics, developed their viewpoints, and communicated their ideas through creative news presentations. They even tackled topics like the **dress code** and what a shortened school week could mean for students and teachers.

We love seeing our Cardinals **Discover, Achieve, and grow** while making connections between classroom learning and the real world! ❤️🤍

🧩 Engineering Takes Teamwork! ❤️🤍

Students in Ms. Wilson’s Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Pre-Engineering class put their teamwork and problem-solving skills to the test with a puzzle challenge, complete with time limits and one very difficult constraint: no using their thumbs!

Students quickly discovered just how much they rely on their thumbs and on each other. The challenge reinforced an important lesson in engineering and teamwork: when circumstances change, team members have to communicate, collaborate, adapt, and sometimes pick up the slack for one another to reach a common goal.

This was a fun way to build the skills our Cardinals will use throughout PLTW and beyond!
