Despite great promise and tireless efforts, many of today’s literacy programs, instruction, and services are not adding up to impact. Each day, educators, program directors, community leaders, and funders are faced with decisions about using time and resources wisely. It is critical that we, as a field, take on a new approach to promoting children’s early reading skills—one that ensures our effort

s and our children reach their potential, and one whereby all stakeholders see the results and impacts they intended. For these reasons, Lectio guides and supports practitioners, policymakers, and funders to understand and analyze their individual and collective efforts in light of their goals, desired outcomes, and what’s needed. Our approach combines our expertise in promoting young children’s reading development and literacy instruction with our expertise in strategic change and solutions, program design and implementation, and resource (re)allocation for sustained growth and measurable impact.

After nearly a decade of transformative work, and filled with nothing but gratitude and inspiration, we have closed the Lectio chapter of our careers.

Our work supporting over 600 talented and dedicated clients and partners, from more than 350 organizations, to strengthen and accelerate their path from intention to impact, gave us a first-hand look at just what kind of change is possible. Entire states and communities, school districts, and small-but-mighty programs are making a material difference in developing readers’ lives, each and every day. So, as we were winding things down, we nevertheless did so inspired and optimistic.
