Yesterday, Sarah Worley, Partnerships & Recruitment Specialist of The Maryland Department of Services and Civic Innovation, was at CSDHS to meet upperclassmen to share information about the MD Corps- Optional Year Program.

Today, during 2nd lunch (12-12:35), she will also be at North Dorchester High School in the Town Hall to talk to students & answer questions! Parents, urge your juniors and seniors to stop by her table!

What is this program about? First, it gives graduating seniors and young adults 18-24, an opportunity to work and earn a paycheck for almost 10 months in their own community with a mentor to gain experience, learn the importance of a good work ethic, and gives many a jump start to a career. The best part of all? When students complete the program, they receive a check for $6,000, to do whatever they want with it. This program is awesome and gives students an optional year to figure out their future pathway while earning money and learning!
