🧧 Lunar New Year Brunch
Thanks to everyone who joined us in the Hulsizer Room for our March Brunch! We celebrated the Lunar New Year in style with a festive spread of wontons, scallion oil noodles, and mochi.

It was the perfect way to bring some luck and delicious vibes to the Ashdown community. We hope you left full and festive!

Pi Day at Ashdown
Thanks to everyone who joined us in the Hulsizer Room for the celebration of Pi day! We swapped our usual Coffee Hour for a full-on Pi Day celebration, and it was a blast.

From classic apple to savory favorites, we hope you enjoyed every last slice of π.

Huge thanks to everyone who came out to the Hulsier room to catch the Super Bowl! From the halftime hype to that final whistle, the energy was unmatched.

We were excited to join the Ashdown Heads of House, the Ashdown House Executive Committee (AHEC) members, and fellow Ashdown residents for food, drinks, and conversation over four days of socials!

Thanks to our Associate Heads of House, Admir & Emina, for hosting such a beautiful housewarming dinner tonight. It was wonderful experiencing a taste of Bosnia through the traditional dishes, pastries, laughter, and music.

We loved welcoming our new community members at our Ashdown House Orientation Brunch last Sunday. From tasty tacos to sweet treats, it was the perfect way to start our journey together.

🎉 We hosted our Spring Festival on Saturday, July 19th, from 2–5 PM in the Ashdown Courtyard and Hulsizer Room (1121), welcoming all graduate students and their families!

Attendees enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon with activities like painting, bubble blowing, a slide, and a bouncy castle.
🍩🌭 We also served up a delicious spread of festive treats, including pretzels, hot dogs, donuts, and ice cream.

Ashdown House hosted July brunch on Sunday, July 13, 2025, from 12:30-2:30 PM at the Hulsizer room for on-campus community during the summer! We enjoyed a delicious selection of summer barbecue-themed food such as burgers, quesadillas, fritters, and egg salad!

[Ashdown Brunch] Last May 11, we celebrated May Brunch! As always, we had a delicious selection of food, including Nikujaga, salmon, pancakes, desserts, and more.

[Ashdown Events] Ashdown’s Events Committee hosted a Karaoke in the Hulsizer room last Saturday, April 19th. Residents showcased their talent and sang their hearts out!

[Dinner & Culture] 🇦🇴 🇧🇷 Jersia, Residential Scholar from Angola 🇦🇴, and her guest Kamilla E. S. Silva, PhD, visiting student in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering from Brazil 🇧🇷, led a fascinating presentation on the similarities and differences between Angola and Brazil. Although separated by the Atlantic Ocean, these two nations share a common colonial past, which has left them with deep cultural, linguistic, and historical ties. This talk will explore how this shared heritage has influenced their identities today.
