One of our core values at RAUC that is especially important as we start the school year is unity. To be in unity, we need to have strong relationships and shared expectations. Check out some photos from the first week of school of how we're building this unity!

Congratulations to RAUC 8th grader Joud Alkhalifa who received a “Superior” distinction for her writing in the 2024 NCTE* Promising Young Writers Contest! This is the second highest distinction a student can receive. Students were nominated from over 30 states, Puerto Rico, Canada and South Africa. Shout out to 7th grade English teacher and advisor for RAUC writers club Ms. Gonzalez for encouraging students to aim high!

Last Tuesday and Wednesday, 6th graders went on a field experience to the MIT Koch Institute of Cancer Research at MIT. Students learned more about what cancer cells are, how they affect the body, and how researchers and engineers are working together to develop potential cures. A special thanks to former CPS educator Christine Pace for helping establish this community connection! Check out some photos below:

Families of RAUC (FRAUC)'s 2nd annual Silent Auction at https://frauc2024.betterworld.org/ closes this Friday, April 26th at 10:00pm. Funds raised through the auction will go to help supporting various enrichment opportunities for our students. We encourage you to check out the auction for some great deals and share the link!

Families of Rindge Avenue Upper Campus on BetterWorld Our mission is to support and enhance the educational experiences of RAUC students by providing an organization through which families, school and teachers can work cooperatively and by providing financial support for student programs funded outside the annual school budget.

Last Friday, our students visited Harvard University as part of the Harvard Project Teach program. During their visit, students heard from Harvard undergraduate students about their experience getting to and attending Harvard and other college options, toured Harvard Yard, had lunch in the freshman-only dining hall, and participated in a class of their choice. We're grateful for this partnership!
