The status of Puerto Rico has been a debated issue since the US Invasion, around 124 years ago. The current status has been said to be akin to colonial rule by members of both the US Congress and the Puerto Rican Government, sparking conversations regarding decolonization. Come and talk with former senator and gubernatorial candidate, Juan Dalmau to learn about his alternative to Puerto Rico’s colonial reality, Independence for Puerto Rico.

Please share and donate to help Puerto Rico in its recovery after Hurricane Fiona! We are helping collect donations through our venmo .

Hurricane Fiona made landfall in Puerto Rico this past week, leaving a path of destruction in its wake. More than half of the island still remains without power and 20% without access to running water (September 24, 2022). The Association of Puerto Rican Students at MIT has come together to help raise funding and awareness for current disaster-relief efforts on the island. We have partnered with a few local volunteer organizations, churches, and community leaders to whom we will directly distribute all funds collected. We can guarantee your donation will have an immense impact as every dollar raised will help these groups working on the ground during the aftermath of the hurricane. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated!
