Glass blowing, glass art, art and technology The MIT Glass Lab is located in the basement below the Infinite Corridor, in room 4-003.

Extracurricular classes are offered to the MIT community. The lab also hosts several sales throughout the year, as well as a lectureship and residency.

The 2026 MIT Glass Lab Mother's Day Sale is coming up soon…

…Monday, May 4 from 10AM to 8PM and Tuesday, May 5 from 10AM to 5PM in Lobby 10 on the MIT campus. The sale features a diverse array of glasswork by our teaching staff, including students, alumni, and professional glass makers.

Professor Kaitlyn Becker and Michael Stern were both members of the MIT Glass Lab community, first as students, then as instructors, starting in their undergraduate years. Congratulations to both of them, as well as their teams!

Engineers 3D print sturdy glass bricks for building structures MIT engineers developed a new kind of reconfigurable masonry made from 3D-printed, recycled glass. The bricks could be reused many times over in building facades and internal walls.
