Had a lot of fun at the Students for Zero Waste Conference on Nov 4!

From Emily:
I'm so happy to have represented MIT's UA Sustain at the Students for Zero Waste (SZW) Conference at UPenn! Events in everything from starting a successful venture in sustainability to food justice in college dining, a delicious catered lunch by Bon Apetit utilizing traditionally wasted food scraps, and inspiring booths across all industry and non-profit sectors... This is what I needed in a weekend.

Thank you MIT UA Sustainability Committee for organizing the caravan to Philly, and PLAN: The Post-Landfill Action Network for organizing this fantastic conference!

Seen the new lawn near Walker? The Special Projects subcommittee has big plans for it! Stay tuned...

The ZeroWaste subcommittee is working to bring back energy bar wrapper recycling to the MIT Z Center!

Foil-lined wrappers CANNOT be recycled in the normal single stream, but they can be recycled specially if collected in large quantities. For now, keep disposing of your wrappers in the trash, but be on the lookout for a special recycling bin coming to the Z soon!
