Librarians don’t just give you answers, we teach you what to question next✨ “Navigating the Noise: Media and Information Literacy in a Changing Landscape” was this year’s theme for the Fenway Library Organization’s Information Literacy Symposium hosted at yesterday (April 29th, 2026.) Tyahra Angus, Administrator of Library Services presented a talk titled “Curating for the Community: How Collaborative Book Displays Amplify Voices in the Library.”
“Curating book displays for the community means thoughtfully selecting books, eBooks, and other circulating materials around meaningful themes that reflect the interests and identities of the people the library serves. It involves highlighting diverse voices, providing context, and often collaborating with others to create displays that encourage discovery, connection, and deeper engagement with ideas and perspectives.“
Thank you to the hosts and the presenters! Each offered such powerful, priceless insight about how each of their institutions are filtering facts from fiction⚡️

What a powerful way to close out the 2026 Thought Leadership Lecture series ✨
A huge thank you to Andrea Wang (MFA Creative Writing ‘11) and Jason Chin for an unforgettable Finnegan Lecture this past week at Lesley University. From the deeply personal story behind Watercress to the magic of collaboration between author and illustrator, their conversation was both moving and inspiring⭐️
We loved hearing about the importance of telling your own story, diving into meaningful, in-person research, and embracing the creative process together. Your honesty, artistry, and passion reminded us how stories—especially the hard, tender ones—connect us to our roots and to each other.
Grateful to the Evelyn Finnegan ’48 Lecture Series and the Finnegan Family for making this special evening possible 💛
Here’s to honoring our histories, sharing our voices, and continuing to create children’s books that last generations.
