Request for Proposals: Reimagining Math in Cambridge through Equity, Joy, and Access!!!

Are you a non-profit organization or out-of-school time (OST) program that provides or is looking to provide high-quality math enrichment programs for children and youth from early childhood through Grade 12? This funding opportunity is for you!!!

Proposals are due on Friday, September 4, 2026 by 5 p.m.

The Cambridge STEAM Initiative, in partnership with the CPS Math Department, invites funding proposals from nonprofit organizations that provide high-quality math enrichment programs for children and youth from early childhood through Grade 12. Proposals are due on Friday, September 4 by 5 p.m.

YPP’s Math Playground transforms mathematics into something families can touch, move through, talk about, and solve together.

Through interactive games and challenges, children and adults learn by exploring—not by sitting through a lesson. It is a joyful space where play leads to discovery, teamwork builds confidence, and every idea can move the group forward.

No special experience is required—just curiosity. Bring the whole family to a welcoming space where children and adults can discover that mathematical thinking belongs to all of us.

Our young Math Literacy Workers help bring the experience to life, creating the kind of near-peer learning community where everyone has something to contribute.

It is YPP’s near-peer model in action: young people learning, teaching, building confidence, and helping others discover their own mathematical ability.
