Cambridge agreed to pay outgoing police commissioner $309,000 when she retired - The Boston Globe 05/07/2026

The City says there’s “no money” for paraprofessionals and other ESP workers fighting for a living wage — but somehow there’s $309,000 for a police commissioner buyout?

That tells us everything about priorities.

Paraprofessionals keep classrooms running. They support students with disabilities, multilingual learners, and kids who need extra care every single day. They deserve respect, dignity, and wages that let them actually live in the communities they serve.

Who’s valued in Cambridge?

Living wage now. Support ESPs.
