🏛️ A major preservation fight has erupted in Washington, D.C.
The Cultural Landscape Foundation is suing the Department of the Interior over the controversial blue repainting of the Reflecting Pool on the National Mall. Critics argue the redesign violates federal preservation law and fundamentally alters one of America’s most sacred civic landscapes.
The lawsuit raises bigger questions about spectacle, symbolism, and the future of public space design in the United States.
