Go check out our sculpture! 🥳 next to the House Zero building at 20 Sumner Road, Cambridge.

This sculpture showcases House Zero's geothermal wells as they moderate the temperature inside House Zero, and shows real-time underground temperature information from the ground level (0 ft) to -300 ft underground, at every 50 ft interval.

Very exciting that the optics of the sunlight, frosted acrylic, and work together to make the sculpture glow very differently at different times of the day.

How does this architectural 🌃💡🔮🎥 work?
When passersby walk 🏃🏽♀️through the underpass, they can see their own silhouette walking toward them, on the diagonally 🔁 opposite wall across the street. As their silhouette continues toward them, the distance between them and their image shrinks until they are directly across the street from themselves.
This allows them to see their reflection across the street as if it were a passerby - an another urban dweller. And this also allows playful interaction between passersby’s reflections across the street.
This installation is designed to encourage a new experience of urban social interaction.
