A busy three day weekend! We loved having the 4th grade classes out on Friday to do lessons on Forest Ethics, WI Geology and Migration. Such a nice group of students...and teachers! Saturday had Cody, Jeremy, Buddy, Duck, Duck, and Duck join the fun at the CAP Harvest Festival. Finally, we welcomed members of the London Moravian Church and Oakland-Cambridge Presbyterian Church to the SLC Barn for a Blessing of the Animals on Sunday. Boy...I sure was glad to have Monday roll around!

Just one a day...

Each month the Koshkonong Trails students help with a service project or two on the property. Last week we harvested apples that will be used by School District of Cambridge students for the Great Apple Crunch.

How does your garden grow?

Well, Mary, we don't have silver bells or cockle shells, but we sure have a lot of other stuff! After that dry spell , I wasn't sure what we would end up with, but most everything is looking good! Come on out and see for yourself...and take home a zucchini or six.

Thanks

I certainly don't say it enough, but the "Farming Community" in Cambridge, from large to small operations, has done so much to help me over the years. Animal advice, borrowing equipment, lending a hand, a source of feed or bedding, sharing a good story and a laugh...not to mention the strong support of our FFA Alumni Association. Couldn't do it without all of you.

Thank you.

Summer School at Severson

A really fun four weeks with summer school students on site. 12 classes were offered this year and we had outstanding staff on hand to make it happen. The goats - and Barney - are ready for a break from all of the attention they've been getting!

A very nice evening with Rural Schools Collaborative during their opening reception last night. RSC is holding their annual Hub Summit in Madison and invited Koshkonong Trails graduate Maddie Roberts and me to speak about the great things happening in Cambridge. We met educators from around the country that are working to promote rural education and community connections.
