Last Friday the TAM seniors held our fall festival for pre-k 4 students from Maple Elementary School. The students got to participate in fall activities and use their gross and fine motor skills to make crafts and play games. Using the educational fall related activities the seniors created, the pre-kers engaged in 6 centers including play dough mats & sensory activity, tissue paper candy corn, Qtip tree painting, creating a bird feeder, outside games, and a Winnie the Pooh acorn story. Finally on their walk back to school, students got to pick their own pumpkin from our pumpkin patch that grew with their good behavior.- Submitted by Mackenzee Burton—VP- Social media & Alyssa Thompson VP-Communications

Senior TAM students took classroom design lesson to the next level! At the end of junior year, they sketched out their vision. On the very first day back as seniors, they rolled up their sleeves and brought that vision to life.
They made sure every seat gave students a clear view and plenty of space to work, while also keeping the room safe, functional, and inviting. Through trial and error, they problem-solved together—adjusting their plan until it truly worked.
The transformation was incredible! These seniors have created a space that’s not only their own, but also a place where learning can thrive.
This is the kind of real-world lesson most don’t experience until after college, yet it’s one every teacher knows firsthand. Watching them take ownership and show such creativity has been pure JOY—for them and for me! Watch out DoCo! These seniors are going to be doing great things this year, so stay tuned!!

The TAM juniors participated in a shadowing experience alongside the seniors, gaining firsthand insight into TAM’s senior year and internship process. The seniors showcased their portfolios and shared their experiences, while the juniors had the opportunity to ask questions. The highlight of the morning was witnessing the TAM seniors and juniors together in intership classrooms. It was truly a fantastic experience! A special shout-out goes to the wonderful mentor teachers at Maple and Choptank, as well as the amazing transportation department that made it all possible!

As part of Intern Interview Day, Teacher Academy of MD students celebrated SkillsUSA Signing Day, highlighting their essential career paths in education. We are proud to announce that three of our seniors, Don’Shay Payton, Emma Robinson, and Jairyn Lewis, have signed to attend college and further their education in this important field. Don’Shay will be attending Chesapeake College. Emma will be heading to Salisbury University and Jairyn is off to Towson University. We look forward to seeing the positive impact they will have in our community. Join us in congratulating these seniors as they take this important step towards their careers!

I’m so excited to see TAM intern, Payton Short’s lesson made Maple’s page!! Payton is a senior in my class. She is just one of the amazing senior interns I have this year. They are doing an awesome job in classrooms this year!
