Kanai Sensei would have been proud and impressed with the students who tested at the New England Aikikai dojo on Sunday, June 14! I certainly was and I think that he would have been too. Congratulations to all for a job well done!

20 years ago today we lost the humble, kind and loving, great man Kanai Sensei. Anyone who was fortunate enough to have trained with him were the lucky ones; for me, it was also personal. I will never forget early that morning, even before I heard the words that he was gone, I knew. I take some comfort in that just hours before, our last words had been, 'I love you'.
