February is Black History Month. Today our teacher, Sam, took students to the Colonel Robert Gould Shaw and Massachusetts 54th Regiment Memorial. This memorial commemorates one of the first Black fighting units to serve in the American Civil War. The class also went to the African Meeting House. Built in 1806, this is the oldest black church edifice still standing in the United States.
