Yesterday was the premiere of "We Are The Forest", produced by MIT Video Productions. This documentary tells the story of the MIT musicians who travelled to the Brazilian Amazon seeking cultural and scientific exchange. Indigenous musicians and activists share their traditional ecological knowledge. Featuring performances by Djuena Tikuna, Luciana Souza, Anat Cohen, and Evan Ziporyn, with music by Antônio Carlos Jobim. Fred Harris conducts the MIT Festival Jazz and MIT Wind Ensemble, Laura Grill Jaye conducts the MIT Vocal Jazz Ensemble.
