A little soap.
A brush.
A sponge.
A towel.

And a whole world of learning. 🌱

For a three-year-old,
“clean the table”
is not one task.

It is a sequence.

🪣 Get the water.
🧼 Apply the soap.
⭕ Scrub in circles.
🫧 Create the suds.
🧽 Wipe them away.
🤍 Dry the surface.
🧺 Care for every tool.

And then…

Dry the bucket.
Clean the brush.
Replace the used towel with a fresh one.
Fold the apron.
Return the entire work to its place on the shelf.

Beginning.
Middle.
End.

This is where executive function begins to grow. 🌿

The child is learning to
remember, plan, sequence, concentrate, coordinate, self-monitor, and finish what they started.
