🇵🇱 CONGRATULATIONS TO TWO OF OUR OWN! 🇺🇸

The Alliance College Alumni Association proudly congratulates Barbara “Basia” Gdula Adams (AC ’84) and Tom Katrenich (AC 81) on their induction tonight as a Grand Lady and Knight of Pulaski, respectively!

Presented by the Polonia Foundation of Ohio, this special recognition honors individuals whose dedication and service have made a lasting contribution to the Polish-American community.

Both Basia and Tom, seen here with past honorees Cathy Katrenich (AC ’84) and Aundrea Cika Heschmeyer (AC ’85) exemplify the commitment to Polish heritage, culture, and community that was at the heart of the Alliance College experience.

🏀A nice note from Duane Jenkins, nephew of Alliance College basketball player Tom Hunter from Meadville, Pa. - who played for Alliance in the 1950’s. After Alliance, Tom Hunter had a successful professional career as an architect for the United States Government. 🏛️

Good Morning Facebook Basketball Fans,

David Matejczyk of the Alliance College Alumni Association notified me this morning that he put a picture up of the 1956-57 Alliance College Men's Basketball Team and my Uncle Thomas "Sonny" Hunter is #32. He also played and starred for the Bulldogs. He averaged 15 points and 8 rebounds per game. He was the one who suggested that I officiate basketball in 1978. He was a Board Member in District 12 of IAABO (International Association of Approved Basketball Officials).

Uncle Sonny went on to be a "Great Architect" for the United States Department of Transportion.

He worked under President Eisenhower, President Kennedy, President Johnson, President Nixon, President Carter, President Reagan, President Bush and President Clinton before he retired. He also owned three Liquor stores in DC.

There wasn't a bridge built by the United States Government that the final plans didn't cross his desk for approval.

On another note, on November 21, 1963, my Grandparents, the Colonel and my Granmother Cora, took me, Bear and Sid to Washinton DC for Thanksgiving. Uncle Sonny and Aunt Jeanne were having a baby, my cousin Diane and Grandma went to help. We were in Washington DC when President John F. Kennedy was assassinated.
