Congratulations to our members for participating the in the 5th U.S. Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Virtual Tournament. Many placed in their respective divisions for Hyung (forms) and Kyok Pa (board breaks). But everyone is a winner for their "active participation"!!

Congratulations to our two members for winning two of the six divisions in the Region 10 2024 Richard O'Donovan Scholarship!

Each member won the $200.00 Scholarship to be used toward anything Soo Bahk Do related - assistant instructor certification, uniforms, summer camp, anything!

Our two members won in two of the six Region 10 2024 Richard O'Donovan Scholarship divisions. The $200.00 scholarship award can be used for anything Soo Bahk Do related - assistant instructor certification, summer camp fees, tuition fees, uniforms, etc.

Members were required to submit either an essay, video, audio, or artistic presentation based on the prompt "Describe a challenging time in your training and how that experience help you improve as a martial artist."

Our annual Class on the Grass was a huge success with members from both Camas Soo Bahk Do and Portland Soo Bahk Do.

We met at a new location - Washougal Waterfront Park - because our "go to" Camas Crown Park is under construction. The weather and scenery at the Waterfront Park was exceptional!!

Thanks to our youth members - Arabella, Serena, Adiv, Elena, Rina, & Lucas for creating and teaching awesome combinations to enjoy outdoors on the grass with nature!

True to form, we finished the training with our annual Chalk Sparring. Everyone tried to draw Pyong Ahn on their partner's uniform.

Then before lunch we did the annual "Beat the Dan" race (Dan members have never lost). We had to do it twice because the first one included and was won by a Ko Dan Ja member (Sean!??). The second one had Dan members in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places!

After 2.5 hours of training we finally enjoyed a potluck lunch taking the time to connect with each other.

Of course we needed to work off our lunch with our traditional "trust ball toss" with water balls.

This is one of our favorite annual traditions started by Robert Shipley III Sa Bom Nim.
