Hola, and happy National Hispanic Heritage Month! This month, which runs through October 15, was designated in 1988 to recognize the contributions of Hispanic people to our nation. Hispanic students make up the largest minority group in Camas schools, at nearly 11%. As an education community, we want to make sure that we take time to learn about and celebrate the diverse histories and cultures of our Hispanic students and staff, as well as community members.

In recognition of National Su***de Prevention and Awareness month, Camas School District is sponsoring a FREE webinar on Wednesday, Sept. 28, from 6 to 7 p.m. This community-oriented training is put on by the Forefront program at the University of Washington, and will discuss how everyone can use the program's “LEARN” approach to support individuals around us who might be struggling.
