A few of my students played together in a “rock band” group. I taught them how to play together and listen to each other. We played a short set at the Farmer’s Market at the end of the 2020 summer. At the time, most of these students had been playing for less than a year. They performed so well, and we all had so much fun doing it!
Mason’s very first experience with reading lead sheet. He’s only been playing for about 6 months. Since he isn’t the biggest fan of reading dots on a page, we decided to try something new, and he did great!
When I demonstrated the song to him, he said “hmm maybe I could play that when I’m like, 35.” He learned the chords quickly and was off to the races. A little more practice, and he’ll be right on the money! Great job Mason!

It is important for my teaching space to be both inspiring and comfortable to my students. The new studio features my two goldfish, Mango and Pablo in addition to many musical gifts given by former students. I’m sure the new students will enjoy it as much as I have.
