Good afternoon PVSD families,
As we close the 2025–2026 school year, I find myself reflecting on the countless moments that made this year special. From classroom visits and student performances to athletic competitions, field trips, family events, and promotion ceremonies, I have had the privilege of witnessing our students learn, grow, persevere, and excel.
This year brought challenges, opportunities, and important work across our schools. Through it all, our students remained at the center of our decisions. I am deeply grateful to our teachers, support staff, administrators, volunteers, and families for the care, patience, and commitment they bring to our schools each day. The learning, encouragement, problem solving, and countless acts of kindness that happen behind the scenes often go unseen, but they make an extraordinary difference in the lives of children. Thank you for the trust you place in our schools and for the partnership that helps our students thrive.
To our students, thank you for bringing energy, curiosity, creativity, and joy to our campuses each day. The best part of my job is spending time in classrooms, on playgrounds, at performances, and on athletic fields where I am reminded that our work is ultimately about helping young people discover who they are and who they can become. Watching your growth this year has been a privilege.
As summer begins, I hope everyone finds time to rest, reconnect with loved ones, enjoy a good book, and create lasting memories. Thank you for another remarkable year of learning, growth, and community. Serving as your superintendent is a responsibility I never take for granted, and I remain grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such dedicated students, staff, families, and community members.
Have a safe, restful, and joyful summer. I look forward to resuming the PVSD Family Update on July 31st and to welcoming our students back on August 19th for another year of learning and possibilities.

The Camarillo Police Department will be hosting an E-bike and E-moto informational Coffee with a Cop event June 13 from 9am-12pm at Vons on Arneill Rd.
Bring your e-bike, ask questions, and learn from community partners.
The Camarillo Police Department will be hosting an E-bike and E-moto informational Coffee with a Cop event. Coffee with a Cop brings deputies and community members together, over coffee, to discuss issues and learn more about resources, services and needs of the community. This month’s Coffee with a Cop will be held on Saturday, 6/13/2026, from 9:00 am-12:00 pm at the Starbucks in Vons, located at 940 Arneill Road in Camarillo. This event will focus on E-bikes and E-motos.
During the event, parents and community members can learn more about E-bikes and E-motos from various community partners and deputies in the Traffic Unit. Current classifications of E-bikes and current laws will be discussed. Parents are encouraged to bring their child’s e-bike for a safety and current legality check. We’re here to help you understand the rules, look over the bike with you, and point out any changes it may need. This is a guidance-only event, not an enforcement event.
In addition to being able to bring your bike for review, staff from Ventura Cycling and Newbury Park Bike Shop will have E-bikes on display and answer questions regarding different E-bikes and bikes. An illegal E-moto will also be displayed. This will allow the public to better understand the differences of E-bikes and E-motos.
The goal of the Camarillo Police Department’s public education and enforcement actions is not to discourage the lawful use of E-bikes, E-scooters or bicycles, but instead to reduce collisions and injuries and increase safety on our roadways for all, especially for our youth.
Representatives from various community partners and agencies will be joining us at this event to provide additional information to the public regarding E-bikes and E-motos. Some of the partners include; Supervisor Jeff Gorrell’s Office, Ventura County Transportation Commission, Saint John’s Camarillo Hospital, and Ventura County Fire.
The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office and Camarillo Police Department have benefited from strong partnerships with the communities we serve. The Camarillo Police Department would like to thank Vons for hosting us for this event.
