Join us at Agassiz Field on Friday, September 11 at 7:00 p.m. for our football game against Negaunee. We will be showing our appreciation to the military and first responders with a Blackhawk helicopter flyover provided by the Michigan Army National Guard. They will also have one Blackhawk on the adjacent practice field for the community to view during the game. All veterans and first responders are welcome to participate in this event by joining us on the football field for the national anthem. This will be a special night as we also introduce our CHS Athletic Hall of Fame members at halftime.

One of the best programs we have at WMS is our Makerspace/STEM/FLEX program. Due to a recent grant we received, we are excited to announce that our Makerspace has been able to add a ton of exciting new equipment and opportunities for our WMS students. Students will be able to learn and use the equipment during their STEM classes, FLEX Time, and other times throughout each day. We have had state-of-the-art laser engravers, 3D printers, and other electronic and hand tools in the past. Now we are adding even more.

Virtual Reality Welding Head Sets
CNC Machines
Welding Simulator
Additional Manufacturing Technology Equipment

We were awarded a large grant to add all of this equipment and training guides called MEERA. Our MEERA courses will be integrated into our current STEM courses. We feel very fortunate to be given this grant and opportunity. The experiences and skill sets this will allow our students to access are unmatched!

Here are some pictures of our new lab equipment. We cant wait to get our students in and watch them use it!

Due to limited participation numbers in 7th grade girls basketball, we are making an exception for the 2026–2027 basketball season to allow 6th grade girls to participate on the 7th grade girls basketball team.

7th and 8th grade girls basketball will begin on August 17th at 3:45 in the middle school gym.

Before a student-athlete is permitted to participate in practice, the following forms must be on file in the High School Athletic Office:

• Athletic Consent Form
• Concussion Form
• Current Physical Card dated April 15, 2026, or later

Please make sure all required paperwork is completed and submitted prior to the first practice.

Preliminary election results indicate that voters approved the proposed bond renewal for CLK Schools. This will support facility and technology improvements across the district while resulting in a zero mill net increase over the prior year’s levy.

This renewal will help fund important updates, including heating, ventilation, restroom and locker room renovations, exterior repairs, public address system upgrades, parking lot improvements at CHS, and instructional technology for classrooms.

We are grateful for our community’s continued support of safe, comfortable, efficient, and effective learning environments for students and staff. Thank you so much!
