Congratulations to Mallory Mohn, Northeast Iowa Community College studenn from of Lansing, Iowa for receiving a $1,500 scholarship from the National Dairy Shrine..

The National Dairy Shrine has had a great partnership with Dairy Management Inc. to support scholarships. One of the scholarships named on behalf of this partnership is the Dairy Shrine/DMI Milk Marketing and Dairy Products scholarship.

This scholarship is to encourage qualified undergraduate students to pursue careers in milk or dairy product marketing, dairy market enhancement or similar roles in the food industries. The scholarship is available to any undergraduate student currently enrolled in their sophomore or junior year in a four-year college.

Recipients the top $2,000 scholarship is Shelby Swanson, an agriculture and food business management major from the University of Minnesota.

Receiving $1,500 each are:

Alia Domeyer, a finance and marketing major at the University of Northern Iowa

Mallory Mohn, a student at Northeast Iowa Community College majoring in agriculture business.

Emma Parrigon, an agriculture communications major at Missouri State University.

Abbygail Schlough, a student at the University of Minnesota majoring in agriculture and food business management.

Northeast Iowa Community College Agriculture student Tanya Wiedner a Beef Science major from Elkader, IA interned this summer at Honey Creek Cattle Company of Strawberry Point. This farm has 80 cow/calf pairs and also finishes cattle. Tanya was certified in Artificial Insemination at NICC by Select Sires as has started her own custom breeding service, flyer attached. In her “spare “ time this summer she works at a hospice and opens for a restaurant in town, TD’s. Congratulations on an outstanding internship this summer!

Northeast Iowa Community College Agriculture student of Elkader, IA Gavin Holst interned this summer with Daniel Berns and Berns farm of Farmersburg, IA. The Berns farm is a row crop operation of 2000 acres 2/3 corn 1/3 soybeans. Gavin was involved in corn planting, cover crop seeding, spraying and more. Gavin, an Agriculture Business/Animal Science double major also has his own custom business where he baled 10,000 small squares of hay this summer. Congratulations on a great internship this summer.

Northeast Iowa Community College Agriculture student Carley Eike of Manchester, IA interned at Silver Edge Cooperative. Silver Edge has locations in Edgewod, Strawberry Point and Dehli. Carley was involved in all aspects of the cooperative from feed, crop inputs, corn inport and export, and fuel. Carley also contributed to marketing efforts for the coop. Carley is an Agriculture Finance major and has been working at the Edgewood office. Congratulations on a great summer internship.

Seed Sales & Warehouse Manager

SilverEdge Cooperative is seeking a motivated Seed Sales & Warehouse Manager to
lead and grow our seed department while overseeing warehouse operations, inventory
management, logistics, seed treatment, and customer service. This position plays a key
role in ensuring seed products are available, accurately inventoried, professionally
handled, and delivered on time while supporting profitable seed sales growth.
Key Responsibilities
 Manage the overall seed business, including inventory planning, preseason
bookings, product availability, product billing, and supplier relationships.
 Oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring a clean, organized, safe, and
efficient facility.
 Maintain accurate seed inventory, perform cycle counts, and coordinate year-end
physical inventories.
 Manage seed treatment operations, equipment maintenance, regulatory
compliance, and recordkeeping.
 Coordinate seed deliveries, routing, and logistics to ensure excellent customer
service.
 Support Agronomy Sales Specialists with product availability, customer events,
plots, and sales initiatives.
 Maintain warehouse equipment, seed tenders, forklifts, delivery vehicles, and
facilities.
 Monitor performance metrics, complete required reporting, and assist with
budgeting and inventory reconciliation.
Qualifications
 High school diploma required; agriculture-related degree preferred.
 3+ years of experience in agronomy, seed, warehouse operations, or a related
field preferred.
 Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
 Valid driver& #39;s license required.
 CDL, Commercial Seed Treater License, and forklift certification (or ability to
obtain) preferred.
 Strong organizational, communication, inventory management, and problem-
solving skills.
 Proficiency with Microsoft Office; AgVision experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements
 Ability to frequently lift up to 75 pounds.

 Operate forklifts and warehouse equipment.
 Work indoors and outdoors, including extended seasonal hours.
