Monte Vista Church of the Brethren The primary mission of Monte Vista Church of the Brethren is to serve others and continue the work of Jesus peacefully, simply, together.

The Church of the Brethren is one of the few churches that can be considered a historic peace church. We value community, simplicity, and faith. Our motto, "Peacefully, Simply, Together," is based on the New Testament and the teachings of Jesus. We have no creed but consider the New Testament to be our guide. The church has transformed in several ways over the past centuries, but it all started in

Germany when several people got together and baptized each other in the Eder River. They were committing a crime and many early Brethren were persecuted for their beliefs. The family has survived, however, and Monte Vista is one of the many COB congregations in the U.S.
