Today our new Colts took a turn at spinning the wheel to find out which house they would be joining. Our students were so excited to cheer them on and welcome them to their new houses! We are ready to kick off this year as four houses, ONE FAMILY!

School is back in session, Franklin County! Over 5,700 Pre-K to 12th grade students arrived back on Thursday.

We have lots of school buses back on the roads. Please plan for some extra time in your morning and afternoon commutes. Our drivers are carrying precious cargo.

Please remember Virginia's safety laws regarding your requirements as a driver when you see a stopped school bus. Let's work together to ensure a safe new school year for all of our students!

🎉 Welcome Back, Franklin County Public Schools Families! 📚✨

After a quick six-week summer, we could not be more thrilled to welcome our students back for the first day of school tomorrow! Our halls, classrooms, and staff are ready for an amazing year ahead.

To help tomorrow morning and afternoon go as smoothly as possible, please keep a few important bus and car-rider reminders in mind:

🚌 Morning Pick-Up & Afternoon Drop-Off

Buses: Please have your child at their bus stop at least 10 minutes early in the morning and please arrive to the stop at least 10 minutes earlier in the afternoon to receive your child/children. As drivers, students, and families adjust to new routes and routines over the first few days, buses may run a little early or a little late.

Car-Riders: Please be patient in the drop-off and pick-up lines as there are always varying #'s of parents driving their children, especially on the first few days.

We appreciate your patience and flexibility as we work to get everyone safely to and from school!

We can't wait to see all of those bright faces tomorrow morning. Let's make it a fantastic First Day! 🎒🍎

In celebration of National Health Center Week (August 3–7), the Tri-Area Community Health is continuing their mission of improving the health and well-being of local communities.
On Friday, August 7 you are invited to stop by and take home a bag of fresh produce.
