🥋 D’ARCE CHOKE NIGHT AT GATORBRIDGE BJJ! 🐊🔥

Last night we went deep into one of the nastiest weapons in the submission game — the D’Arce Choke.

We worked on controlling the head and arm, locking up the right position, tightening the finish, and recognizing opportunities to hit the D’Arce during scrambles and transitions.

The goal isn’t just learning another submission — it’s learning how to see it before it’s there.

Great work from everyone on the mats! Keep drilling, keep sharpening, and keep building your game.

🔥 Last Night at GatorBridge BJJ 🔥

Last night’s Adult BJJ class was all about Head & Arm Chokes—one of the most effective and highest-percentage submissions in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

We focused on the small details that make a huge difference:
🥋 Securing the position
💪 Creating the right pressure for a clean finish
🔄 Smooth transitions into the choke
🛡️ Recognizing and preventing common escapes
⚡ Drilling the techniques before putting them to work during live rolls

It’s always amazing to see everyone helping each other improve, asking great questions, and putting in the work to sharpen their skills. Every class is another opportunity to become more technical, more confident, and more prepared—whether your goal is competition, self-defense, or simply becoming the best version of yourself.

A big thank you to everyone who came out and trained hard. We can’t wait to see you back on the mats for the next class!

Gatorbridge BJJ Academy will be closed for the week of July 4th to allow our students, families, and coaches time to relax, recharge, and celebrate Independence Day.

Tough week saying “see ya later” to our teammates Charlotte, Maverick, and Tye. Charlotte and Maverick will be going to Louisiana. Tye is heading to Indiana. These teammates will be missed but I am excited for their growth and progress at their new academies. The team and coaches will miss you guys but we know you will be representing Gatorbridge with skill and character!! 🐊

We had the man that started me down the jiujitsu path stop by and see the academy. Great to have Donny Avera bring the pressure. This man lead me from white belt to black belt. He even let me train with his son Chris Garza. Always a good time catching up and learning some new ninja moves!
