S.E.E.K. at California University of Pennsylvania

Hi everyone. I am getting quite a few messages - as expected - regarding 2022 SEEK. As much as it hurts my heart to share this, SEEK is suspended indefinitely due to the change of the university. I have been waiting to hear from someone to give you a "formal" notice on here however it's been two months since I've asked for that. I do not feel it is right to withhold that information so that you have plenty of time to get things set up for your kids to attend another camp if you wish.

It pains me even more so because we never got to celebrate our 20th year with everyone who supported and has been with us nearly form the beginning. I myself attended SEEK when I was in elementary school and I was so looking forward to seeing how we celebrated the 20th year but then COVID happened. I will not be deactivating the page until I absolutely have to as it holds so many memories for not only me but everyone who has attended SEEK.

I hope you ALL have an amazing summer and maybe one day we'll get to start this up again.

The University will not be hosting a 2021 SEEK program due to the ongoing pandemic and in accordance to our Level 2 operations during the summer term. We look forward to safely welcoming our SEEK participants and their families back to campus next summer.

Please hold the dates for our 2022 SEEK program being planned for the weeks of July 11-15, 2022 and July 25-29, 2022.

Just wanted to check in with everyone and see how this sad summer is going. We are still completely saddened by having to postpone our 20th year of SEEK until next year. We miss the kids and staff tremendously. This summer has not gone how any of us ever envisioned, but come next year we will (hopefully) be able to have camp once again. Over the next few days, I will be sharing some fun activities to do that we would have gotten to learn/do during camp. These activities will come from some of the children's most favorite classes that fill up each year. For example, Miss Brittney's Harry Potter classes or her cooking classes. Or Miss Lorra’s sewing classes or Jakob's magic classes. I'll share some fun activities to share with your kiddos that are clean and safe to do at home!

I miss you all!

*ANNOUNCEMENT*

It is with sad hearts we have to announce that as of right now there will be no SEEK this summer. We had our dates picked out since last summer because this year was supposed to be our 20th anniversary. California University of Pennsylvania has taken the steps to implement policies that does not allow any activities or students or camps on campus until at least the middle of August. This takes away any chance we had of having the camp over summer while students are out of school. If anything at all changes or there are any updates, I will be sure to let everyone know VIA this page. If you have any questions at all, please message me on this page as we are not on campus at the moment due to the virus.

Again, we apologize for this announcement and we are saddened too.

One of our campers, Alex, was enjoying her rainbow grilled cheese sandwich she made yesterday in Miss Brittany's Houdini Foodini class! We are having a great time here at the second session of SEEK! Stay tuned for more pictures, information, and posts from this week's SEEK session!

Many of you probably received an email yesterday evening stating that registration for SEEK 2019 is live! If you have not received that email and wish to, send me a message on here and I will forward you the email! I will also be posting the brochure in the form of PICTURES on here in just a short while. In the meantime, here is the link for registration!

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

~ Registration will be open by the END of the week!

~ NEW!!! “SEEK to be Kindergarten Ready” SEEK’s Kindergarten readiness curriculum will help children further develop the following skills in preparation for Kindergarten: self-help skills, social-emotional skills, visual skills, verbal skills, language development, listening skills, work habits, gross motor skills and fine motor skills. SEEK’s Kindergarten Ready classes are designed only for children registered to attend Kindergarten in the upcoming school year (2019) and must be five years old on or before September 1, 2019.

~ We are considering adding another NEW program. This program would be for 9th and 10th grade students. In this new program they would learn General life skills such as changing a tire, managing a garden, opening a bank account, etc. PLEASE if there is any interest in this new program send us a message on here or email me, LeeAnna, at [email protected]. ***THIS PROGRAM WOULD ONLY BE OFFERED FOR THE SECOND SESSION OF SEEK 2019. WE ARE STILL WORKING ON THIS PROGRAM.

Just a reminder that the weeks and prices for SEEK 2019 are as follows:

~ Two week-long sessions: July 15-19, 2019 and July 29-August 2, 2019;

~ Classes from 8:30 AM to 4 PM daily: full-day ($135/week) or half-day ($90/week) * THESE PRICES ARE FOR GRADES 1 THROUGH 8 ONLY!
