Hi class of 2002. Many of you may already be aware that our classmate, Drew Walraven, has been diagnosed with Merkel Cell Carcinoma Cancer. It is rare & aggressive, and only approximately 20 people have been diagnosed with it worldwide. The latest update I received from Drew’s wife, Kristin, is that cancer was present in a lymph node and possibly in the bone. The oncologist highly recommended that Drew go to Sloan Kettering in NY, which is their plan if he is accepted. Drew will begin his 60 rounds of radiation next week.
Lindsay Baxter suggested that our class of 2002 put together a monetary gift for Drew & his family to help them with medical and travel expenses. I am going to help collect any money donated & deliver to The Walraven’s on behalf of the Class of 2002. If you feel led to donate, please send your donation to Jessica-Linn-10 through Venmo.
