Parents, we need your help! Did you know the Federal Government has extended free meals for all students through the remainder of the school year. Did you also know schools receive funding based in part on the percentage of students that qualify for free or reduced-priced meals?

With all the challenges we have faced this year, the number of free and reduced meal applications submitted is significantly less than previous years. A decrease in our percentage directly affects funding and could lead to a decrease in federal monies we receive in the future.

We are asking that all households take a few minutes to fill out the application so our school district can continue to provide instructional support and supplies for our students and professional learning for our teachers. The application may also be completed at www.schoolcafe.com.

ATTENTION FREE MEALS |

Effective Tuesday, September 8th all Calhoun City Schools' students will be able to eat both breakfast and lunch for free. The USDA has extended this opportunity to serve students through December 31, 2020. Students will receive 1 breakfast and 1 lunch for free each day. Additional meals and a la carte items will continue to be charged to student accounts.

In addition, meals will be available for pick up at the back of each school campus daily from 11:00am-1:00pm. These meals are for all children in the community ages 0-18 years of age. Both a lunch and breakfast for the next day will be distributed at this time. Families with students in COLA can begin picking up meals for their students daily as well, without pre-ordering.

It is very important to continue to submit your Free & Reduced applications on-line through www.schoolcafe.com before September 30th. This will ensure that your student will continue to receive Free & Reduced meals if they are eligible on January 1st, 2021. All families are encouraged to complete a Free & Reduced application online, even if you are not sure if you qualify. These applications help our system to receive funding that allows us to continue offering students an outstanding educational opportunity.

Each family will receive a 20lb box filled with local and peak season produce!
Distribution will be at the backside of Calhoun Primary School. We are asking families to stay in their cars and line up in the bus loading area. Produce Boxes will be available
from 9:00AM - 1:00PM.
