We're also grateful to our city leadership for believing in and supporting the CASE program.
Thank you to our wonderful presenters from Calera PD, as well as Aajene Robinson, Wes Wyatt, and Jared Hudson, who took time from their busy schedules to invest in our Calera kids.
It truly takes a village, and I may be biased, but we have the BEST village in Calera!

Today at CASE camp, we welcomed Aajene Robinson, who spoke to the kids about her work as a daytime reporter. Officer Leonard gave a presentation on crime scene investigation and demonstrated some of his tools. The kids participated in team building and experienced fatal vision goggles while riding a pedal cart. We concluded the day with Pelham Officer Schniper (Gerald) discussing etiquette with the campers. The kids may have even learned some ballroom dancing with Ms. Jackson!

Today at CASE Camp, Officer Miller led sessions on Run, Hide, Fight and CPR. Officer Allen discussed SWAT team operations and traffic accidents. We also had a visit from Life Flight, who talked about their helicopter. Additionally, we enjoyed playing Nine Square and basketball.

Day 2 of CASE Camp - What an Amazing Day! 🌟
The 2nd day of CASE camp started out with another stellar speaker. A big thanks to Jared Hudson for speaking to the kids about leadership.
Zina Cartwell from Central Alabama Wellness spoke about life skills and making good choices. Officer Roberts and Officer Allen spoke about the dangers of va**ng. Damon Ganns, the Calera Criminal Analyst, spoke about his job, and Officer Allen spoke about his role as a K9 officer.
We're so grateful to all our speakers for sharing their time and expertise with our campers!

Today, we kicked off CASE Camp at Calera Middle School! We had an incredible lineup of speakers who shared important insights with the students. Chief David Hyche and Principal Desaree Jackson welcomed everyone and emphasized the importance of community and safety. Criminal Analyst Damon Ganns introduced our Cadet program, inspiring students to pursue careers in law enforcement. Detective Littleton shared his experiences about being a detective, encouraging students to consider a future in investigation. Lt. Grant discussed online safety, highlighting how to stay safe in the digital world. Finally, Lt. Blake Atkins talked about gun safety, stressing responsible handling and awareness. It was a fantastic start to an engaging and educational week!
