Open House is TONIGHT at Dutton Elementary!

We are SO excited to welcome our Dutton families back into the building tonight, August 19! Our staff teams are ready to see you and we can’t wait to kick off another amazing school year together!

Pre-K, Y5 & Kindergarten: 4:30–5:30 PM
1st–4th Grade: 5:00–6:00 PM

Come meet your child’s teacher, visit the classroom, say hello to familiar faces, and get ready for a fantastic year!

Ready or not, its officially Open House week! We are so excited to see our kiddos on Wednesday evening. Preschool, Young 5 and Kindergarten, your open house is from 4:30 - 5:30 pm.

*IMPORTANT UPDATE* Preschool classrooms are still under construction and will not be open to the public. Also, most of our preschool students and families need to complete their enrollment paperwork so we can make class rosters. At this time, class rosters have not been created for preschool. Our amazing preschool teachers will be here to welcome you, and you are welcome to tour the school. We will have a separate night specifically for preschool students to meet your teacher and see your classroom at a later date and time.

Grades 1-4, your open house is from 5:00 - 6:00 pm.

A huge thank-you to Ada Bible Church for their incredible generosity and continued partnership with Dutton Elementary! For more than a decade, this wonderful relationship has helped provide much-needed school supplies to our staff and students. As summer winds down and everyone gets anxious for the start of the new school year, I thought that I would let you know what to expect over the next few weeks.
Placement emails will go out on Friday Aug. 14th at 4pm. You should receive an email from your child's teacher on Monday Aug. 17th. If you do not receive an email check your PowerSchool account to make sure we have the correct information or check your spam folder for an email from [email protected].
NEW STUDENTS ONLY If you do not have enrollment complete you will not receive a letter. Reach out to our admin office to see what needs to be completed, 616-891-8185.
Our Open House will be held here at Dutton Elementary, Wednesday August 19th. PreK-K will be 4:30pm-5:30pm, 1st-4th will be 5:00pm-6:00pm.
Supply lists can be found on our Dutton Elementary website under the for parents tab.
We are looking forward to welcoming you all back on the 24th! :)

Our 4th graders set a goal, worked hard, and earned a reward they were excited about - a staff vs. student dodgeball tournament!

Earlier this year, students voted that if they met their M-STEP proficiency goal, they wanted the chance to take on the staff in a dodgeball showdown. After months of effort and determination, they achieved their goal and made the tournament happen!

The competition was fierce, the laughs were plentiful, and school spirit was at an all-time high. While the staff ultimately took home the trophy, the real victory was the memories, teamwork, and celebration shared by everyone involved.

Congratulations, 4th graders, on reaching your goal and showing what hard work can accomplish!

🚍 Transportation Registration Now Open for 2026–2027! 🚍

Planning for the next school year starts now! Our Transportation Department is hard at work preparing efficient bus routes, and we need your help.

✅ All families—whether your student will ride the bus or not—are asked to complete the Transportation Form in the PowerSchool Parent Portal by Friday, June 26, 2026.

Log in: powerschool.calschools.org

Click Forms in the left menu.

Select Transportation Request/Change.

Fill it out and hit Submit!

Need alternate pickup/drop-off? Include address & contact info.

Requests after the deadline may take 5–7 days to process and may not be available on Day 1. You can update the form anytime during the school year.

Little hands, all so beautiful and unique!

The students of Dutton used their creativity and fine motor skills to make our halls so beautiful! Each class traced their hands, colored them in and cut them out!

In addition, Mrs Lakatos had her MLL students color flags of their countries on hands to make an amazing flower showing all the diversity we have here at Dutton!

Thanks to our amazing staff who helped with this project and help our students grow every day!

💛💜 2026 Senior Walkthrough! 💜💛

The Dutton seniors walked through the halls of Dutton this morning to celebrate their upcoming graduation! While this building might not hold all the memories, a walkthrough photo of the old Dutton and former staff helped bring the magic back for these amazing seniors!

This group of students were kindergartners when Mr. Veitch and Mrs. Pickard started at Dutton so this was a special walk though for both of them!

Congratulations Class of 2026! We are so proud of you.

💜 💛 What a special morning at Dutton Elementary! 💛 💜

We were thrilled to welcome many of our retired staff members back to Dutton for a fun brunch and time together. It was so meaningful to have our Dutton family reunited once again!

Retired teachers and staff enjoyed a tour of our new building and joined us for the Senior Walkthrough - bringing together past, present, and future members of the Dutton community all under one roof.

Moments like these are a beautiful reminder of the strong traditions, relationships, and sense of community that make Dutton such a special place
