Some highlights from this year's Houston County Fair!!! It was a great year! Our numbers were up again for most of our livestock areas, lots of general projects and lots of great memories made for the youth!! We also featured a new event this year - the adult supreme showmanship contest! It was pretty entertaining!! Congrats to all our exhibitors! And thank you to all our parents, volunteers, and sponsors for helping the youth have such a great experience! 🍀🍀🍀🍀🎪🎡🎢

Up and back! Our livestock exhibitors had a fun trip to the State Fair!! Congratulations to all the exhibitors! We had several purples within the group, which is exciting! But most of all, the memories that were made (and apparently some singing was involved?😆) are what make the state fair an unforgettable experience!! Congrats everyone!! 🍀🍀🍀🍀

Houston County 4-H Shirt/Merchandise Fundraiser!
Every few years we offer a shirt order for our families. This year we have TWO designs and several items to choose from! The easiest way to submit these orders will be to submit one form for each person in your family. There is a comments spot at the end if you want to explain any part of your order to us.

We have 4-H shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants and hats to purchase!! Check out the TWO styles and all the options on our google form!!

Orders will be available for pickup at the County Fair! You can pay for your order before or at the county fair.

Last week was 4-H Day Camp!! The theme was "The Jungle"!! Youth learned about monkeys, parrots, and snakes as well as banana trees, jungle vines and the Kapok tree! The youth enjoyed the games, activities and songs and finished up the day with a water war! The top three favorites were the animal prints (made out of plaster of paris), Oobleck, and the water games, especially drip, drip, drop! 🍀🍀🍀🍀

Thank you to all who made the 4-H Beef Showmanship Clinic a success on Saturday!! We had 26 youth participate. Youth learned about daily routines, hair care, showmanship and what to feed your animal. 🍀🍀🍀🍀

Houston County Beef Showmanship Clinic 2026
If you are interested in learning more about showing your beef animals at the fair and other aspects of raising your animal, then you'll want to attend this year's Beef clinic. Mark your calendars for SATURDAY, JUNE 20th at Krech Arena at the Houston County Fairgrounds!

Houston County and Fillmore County 4-H Beef youth are invited to join the Beef PDC for a Showmanship Clinic on Saturday, June 20th. Youth will learn: daily routines, hair care, showmanship and what to feed your animal.

Registrations are appreciated, but will welcome walk-ins.
Youth may bring their own cattle to work with.
Registration at 9:00 am
Clinic starting promptly at 9:30 am - 2:00 pm
Lunch will be provided by Houston County Cattlemen and Beef PDC.
Come for a day of fun learning and even some door prizes!
