One of my favorite events of the year! BCC’s network of engaged schools, businesses, and communities is a testament to the investment in local youth for future career success and dedication to long-term economic vitality.

Bluff Country Collaborative’s annual Career and Technical Education Exploration Day was deemed a success, with about 700 students and 45 businesses participating in the events on Sept. 17.

I enjoyed introducing fair goers to Bluff Country Collaborative at the Fillmore County Fair! In the BCC, we pool resources to bring career awareness and development to students. Our first event this fall is the CTE Exploration Day!

We also enjoyed the cheese curds, onion rings, pork burgers, shaved ice, shakes, and cotton candy!

Just because school is out doesn’t mean our work is done. We are continuing work over the summer, planning for the next school year, making sure businesses and students are successful for the upcoming school year. Over summer is a great time to get with us at the BCC to plan your student opportunities: job shadows, tours, classroom speaking topics, and youth work experience or internship!

Today, we recognize Juneteenth - a day that honors freedom, resilience, and the continued work of building opportunity for all.
At the Bluff Country Collaborative, we believe every student deserves access to meaningful experiences, supportive connections, and pathways that help them imagine and pursue their future.
May this day serve as a reminder of the importance of freedom, equity, opportunity, and community.
