Members Lizette Carrillo and Kayce Ramirez are hanging out on Radio Rancho to promote the Back to School Fair! We appreciate the opportunity to get the word out to the community about tomorrow's event. They have been running a short radio ad for us as we approach the event.

Your VEA team has been busy the past two weeks! We said "Welcome!" to the employees joining Vallivue SD last week.

Now, it is the week of Back to School Fair! We accepted donations from the Nampa Elks Lodge # 1389, Eagle Christian Church, and Caldwell Police Department, and our friends at the Nampa Staples delivered our order of supplies. Yesterday, we spent a few hours with volunteers preparing over 500 bags of supplies to hand out on Saturday.

🎉 Celebrate IEA Professional Learning

This week, as educators from across Idaho come together for IEA Summer Institute—our premier professional development conference—we're also celebrating another milestone: the graduation of the inaugural Leaders for Just Schools cohort.

✨ Crystal Villanueva's Project: Multilingual Systems for Equity and Student Access

Crystal recognized that multilingual students at her school were too often being identified for special education when they were actually progressing through the normal stages of language acquisition.

Working alongside teachers, school psychologists, and administrators, Crystal led the development of a multilingual Response to Intervention (RTI) process that strengthens data collection, improves intervention tracking, and supports collaborative decision-making, helping ensure students receive the right support at the right time.

Next school year, the framework will be fully implemented, with Crystal facilitating the process and continuing to help build systems that better serve multilingual learners.

Congratulations to Crystal and the entire first Leaders for Just Schools cohort! Your leadership is creating stronger schools for Idaho students. 🍎
