The Power of Accidental Divine Appointments
I walked into a domestic violence classroom thinking I was there by accident. Some things I heard them saying caught my attention and I so I kept listening. I was in shock! I left knowing there are no accidents when you're ready to see the truth." "Lately, now being alone, I asked God to help me fix me and my marriage. I never thought to ask Him to help me see clearly what was actually happening. Because, indeed, I was blind to this truth. Well, after I left this classroom, open now, awake now. I cried out to God even more in all sincerity but now with more clarity. When I genuinely sought help, little did I know that I had opened myself up to receiving that help from unexpected places. That classroom wasn't random – I didn’t realize it, but I realized that God had been leading me to be spiritually prepared to receive what I most needed to hear.
You Know,
Recognition is the First Act of Courage. The moment I thought "oh my gosh, I'm being abused" was actually a moment of tremendous bravery in my life which of course, I didn’t realize at the time.
But, my mind was finally ready to name what my heart had been feeling and beneath it all, already knew; that not only was I being abused, but my husband was having an affair.
The Difference Between Fixing and Seeing: Many of us pray to fix situations when we first need to pray for clarity to see them accurately. Sometimes God's answer isn't to change circumstances but to change our understanding.
Validation as Sacred Ground That classroom became holy ground because it was where my truth was finally witnessed and validated. External validation can unlock internal acceptance.
The Prayer That Changes Everything "God, help me" is different from "God, fix this." One opens us to transformation; the other keeps us stuck in familiar patterns.
Seeking truth, even when scary leads to our ultimate freedom. Sometimes the answer to 'God, what's wrong?' isn't what you expect - it's where you are when you're finally ready to hear it.
