History:
St. Croix Christian Academy is a work of the Spirit. The board had a few desires related to the educational opportunities in our area. The first desire was for a Christian education that truly allowed parents to be the most prominent voice for their students and spend time with their children. The second desire was for an education that provided students with a wealth of knowledge alongside their training to think deeply. The third desire was to provide an affordable Christian education option in the
St. Croix Valley area. Out of the above mentioned desires, or callings, St. Croix Christian Academy was shaped.

SCCA seeks to serve home-school families who need support across all academic areas by taking on the burden of preparing assignments for the entire school year and researching curriculum. We seek to enable families to have support in areas where their student needs more challenges and structure.
Ultimately, SCCA seeks to ensure families spend more time together and that students are challenged with meaningful academics. SCCA is not alone. In the 90’s schools began to recognize the need for families to have more time together and pursue a rigorous education. Hybrid schooicro-schools, and homeschool cooperatives began enrolling students. These are schools/ programs that use non-traditional schedules in order to
create more flexible educational options. More recently, online schools have begun operating for similar reasons. Now, there are national associations for schools that are non-traditional from a time perspective or parent involvement perspective.

SCCA is committed to coming alongside families as they disciple their children. We ask that you take on a pioneer spirit, pray, and as the Lord leads, step out in faith. Join us as we seek wisdom, mature to bear fruit for the Kingdom of Heaven, and arm students with the sword of truth!

Mission Statement:
St. Croix Christian Academy’s (SCCA) mission is to glorify God through academic excellence. SCCA will assist parents who seek to provide a rigorous Christ-centered education for their children. SCCA will educate students to be salt and light in the world and to bear good fruit. In order to do this, students will be encouraged to excel academically and thoroughly study the Bible to gain Godly wisdom.

Statement of Faith:
St. Croix Christian Academy upholds the Bible as the inerrant word of God and that the chief end of man is to glorify God. SCCA is not part of a specific denomination and will not emphasize doctrinal differences within Christianity.

Non-Discriminatory Policy:
SCCA does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, or ethnic background. This policy of non-discrimination is exercised during student admission, hiring of faculty and staff, and all school-administered programs.

Statement on Diversity:
SCCA recognizes that all humans are equal before God. SCCA’s standard for diversity is from the Bible and indicates a genuine love for all people. Nonetheless, individual differences in lifestyle that deny, reject, or ignore Biblical standards represent rebellion to God’s standards and may preclude a family from attending SCCA.

PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION:
“Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” (Proverbs 9:10)
Worldview: SCCA’s worldview is Biblical. All curriculum will fit within this worldview and teachers will hold the same worldview. As such, students will learn that their understanding is not accurate or complete unless it aligns with the Bible. Of note, SCCA also applies a Biblical worldview to science and
supports creation as detailed literally in Genesis (Young Earth Creationist).

Individual Emphasis:
Students will not be educated strictly by their age but by their achievement and ability as appropriate. In this manner, students can move through the curriculum with peers who understand the concepts similarly to them. Parents will provide remediation or additional challenges as appropriate on the at home days.

Optimally Delivered:
At each point, students will be pressed to achieve and instruction will emphasize the joy of learning for a lifetime. Class time will be dynamic and encourage hands on activities and group activities as appropriate. Students will attend SCCA for one to three (1-3) days worth of direct instruction. The other days (at
home days) will be a time for students to work independently on assigned projects/ work, pursue individual interests, attend activities to bring learning to life, master difficult concepts, and have increased time for learning with their family.

Academic Records Policy:
Students at SCCA are recognized as homeschool students. Therefore, parents are responsible for maintaining records and grades of their student’s education.
