A scholarship fund has been established in memory of alumni Scott Newton (class of 2008) to support students who wish to pursue outdoor recreation. Please consider donating to this fund whatever amount you are able - every little bit counts! Details are below...

Erin Merrill, Scott's cousin, is leading the charge and any donations can be made to her venmo, -Merrill-21, or PayPal, [email protected], accounts. She will also be at Scott's celebration of life, August 7th, taking donations in all forms. The goal is to create a 1,000 dollar scholarship in perpetuity, which means we needs lots of donations!

It is with great sadness that we recognize the passing of one of our alumni Scott Newton. "Scotty" was a graduate of the class of 2008 and was recognized as our Student of the Year. We liked him so much that we hired him to guide some of our student expeditions after he graduated. He always took pride in providing a high-quality experience for his clients and guests. Our condolences go out to his family, friends, and community.

Katahdin Area Trails and New England Outdoor Center are looking for Trail Builders! Candidates will have the ability to lift heavy objects 75+ lbs, be able to sustain long days with occasional strenuous tasks, limited opportunity to operate small excavators and mechanical wheelbarrows. KAT offers seasonal employment opportunities building mountain bike trails in the Katahdin Region. Candidates should be highly self motivated and have the ability to work productively without continuous supervision. Experience with mountain biking is a strong plus but not a requirement. Work week: 40 to 45 hours - can be weather dependent.
