This week our Lupin Hill community lost someone very special. Debbie Daly was a long-time PFC Board member, a dedicated library and Morning Mile volunteer, and helped out regularly in her children, Quinlan and McKenna’s classes. More importantly, Debbie was an incredibly loving and involved mother, a devoted wife, and an amazing friend. Her absence will be deeply felt by many.

Dear LVUSD Families,

Today I was able to walk several of our campuses to survey the damage from the Woolsey fire. While the fire came close to many of our campuses, our firefighters performed miracles to save our structures. We will be forever grateful for their heroism.

As we move into recovery efforts, our first and foremost concern will be the safety of every one of our students, parents, and staff members. For that reason, all Las Virgenes Schools will remain closed through at least Tuesday November 13th so that the District can conduct a thorough and complete assessment with regard to safety and environmental quality (including surface, air, and water). We also recognize that many families remain under evacuation orders, and that for some families fires or flare-ups are active close to their homes.

For those in need of emotional support, given the multiple events last week, please consider calling the Disaster Distress Helpline at: 1-800-985-5990 or text “TalkWithUs” to 64746.

We are closely monitoring the multiple fires in our area and are aware that much of our community has been evacuated.

At the direction of the Sheriff’s Department, we have been asked to close schools on Friday, November 9th.

All parents of 1st-5th graders...PLEASE be sure to check your Aeries (https://parent.lvusd.org/) and your consent form (https://www.lupinhillpfc.org/communication-consent) have been completed. You should have received a confirmation email from the district for Aeries and a confirmation from [email protected] for your consent form (search through your emails).

Trust me…it is much easier to complete these online forms from the comfort of your home, than on the Acers at the school. Both of these online forms need to be completed in order to receive your teacher tomorrow at registration. 😁

Last week our families donated clothes, linens, toiletries, food and other necessities for the victims of the Ventura fire. Two car loads came in in just one day! This week it is our Food Drive for local families in need over the Holidays. Lupin Hill is always happy to give back to the community! ❤️

Big changes are coming to Lupin Hill. It is so exciting to see the architect’s drawings. The school is going to look amazing. Superintendent of LVUSD, Dan Stepenosky was speaking about the upcoming construction at the State of Our Schools meeting this week. Construction starts Spring 2018.

One of our favorite events is coming up soon - the Lupin Hill Holiday Boutique.
This year, we are opening for Late Night Shopping on Tuesday, December 5 from 7:00-8:00pm. If there are any Lupin Hill Alumni who would like to come and do some Holiday shopping, we would love to see you there. Spiced apple cider and cupcakes will be served.
