Last week we celebrated Pre-K with visits from Mrs. Heard from Southside, Lisa Po***ck with 4H, Shelia Roberts with Farm Bureau, and Dr. Cooper from Grady County Schools. Mrs. Crawford's class enjoyed reading about fall with Mrs. Heard. Mrs. Po***ck shared a story about dairy cows and Mrs. Roberts provided materials to make cows and butter. Dr. Cooper ended our week with another story time. The kids have had a blast this week! Readers become Leaders!

🔬 STEM Exploration – Using creativity, problem-solving, building, and experimenting to explore how things work.

Cairo High School celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month on October 1, 2026, during first and second lunch. Many students and staff came out to participate in the celebration and enter drawings for several prizes.

A member of the community generously donated a chocoflan and a $50 gift card for the grand prize. Mrs. Bentley of Helping Hands donated five servings of homemade loaded nachos, and Mrs. Patricia Bailey, CHS Cafeteria Assistant Manager, donated a key lime square cake.

The winners were:

Grand Prize (Chocoflan and $50 Gift Card): Elizabet Gomez

Key Lime Square Cake: Kevean Johnson

Loaded Nachos: Ma’Kayla Williams, Eliseo Perez Gomez, Antonio Gomez Juarez, Mrs. Brandi Adkins, and Claudia Perez Perez.

The CHS cafeteria staff also prepared a special Hispanic-themed lunch for students and staff to enjoy.

We appreciate Dr. Huff for allowing us to host this celebration and everyone who helped make it possible. It was a great opportunity to celebrate Hispanic heritage and recognize the Hispanic culture represented at Cairo High School.
