Miss Syrup City Scholarship Program ๐™ผ๐š˜๐šž๐š•๐š’๐š— ๐“ก๐“ธ๐“พ๐“ฐ๐“ฎ: 2026 Miss Syrup City Scholarship Pageant: June 5th @ 7:00 p.m. in the CHS Auditorium Thank you.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Contestants must be 16-19 at the time of competition OR a rising junior by June 9, 2023. This applies to rising seniors, graduating seniors, or first year college students. As long as contestants who place Queen or Court commit tot he required appearances during their reign. Contestants must reside in and/or attend school in Grady County (Cairo High School), or be homesc

hooled in Grady County. Must be involved in any extracurricular activity in Cairo/Grady County (volunteer organization, sports, club, or fine arts โ€” if you have any questions, please let us know!)

โœจ Meet Contestant #5, Shakira Griffin.

Shakira Griffin is the 17-year-old daughter of Shamara Griffin and a rising senior at Cairo High School. Following graduation, she plans to continue her education by attending college and pursuing a degree in Business. Her goal is to build a successful career while giving back to the community that has helped shape her into the person she is today.

Known for her strong work ethic, leadership, and commitment to personal growth, Shakira strives to be a positive influence both in school and throughout her community. She is passionate about inspiring others and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those around her.

Shakira's academic achievements include Honor Roll recognition, the Science Award, the American Literature Award, induction into National Honors Society and Junior Honor Society, Middle School Honor Graduate, and the Citizenship Award. Her dedication to excellence is reflected in both her accomplishments and her character.

Outside the classroom, Shakira is actively involved in community service and extracurricular activities. She has participated in Earth Day cleanups, volunteered at Cairo High School Scholarship Night, and is involved with Cairo Mainstage Community Theatre. She also serves as a basketball manager for the South Georgia Elites. In addition, Shakira has been involved in theatre for six years and is a member of both the Marching Band and Symphonic Band, where she plays the flute.

Shakira hopes to become Miss Syrup City because she wants to represent her community with confidence, positivity, and pride. She is passionate about serving as a role model for younger girls and showing them that they can achieve their dreams through hard work, determination, and belief in themselves.

โœจ Meet Contestant #4, Skilar Williams.

Skilar Kennedy Williams is the 16-year-old daughter of Dayshell Shavers-Williams and Kenneth Williams Jr. A rising senior at Cairo High School, Skilar plans to attend college after graduation, majoring in Criminal Justice on a pre-law track while pursuing a minor in Creative Writing. She hopes to build a future in law and use her voice to inspire and advocate for others.

A dedicated student, Skilar has earned a place on the A/B Honor Roll, is enrolled in Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment courses, and has been honored twice at the Voices of Grady County writing ceremony for her excellence in writing. Her commitment to academic excellence reflects her determination to achieve her goals and make a positive impact on those around her.

Beyond the classroom, Skilar is actively involved in leadership and service opportunities, including the Grady Youth Council, St. Jude Leadership initiatives, and Love Michael Leadership. Through these experiences, she has developed a passion for serving others and giving back to her community.

Skilar hopes to become Miss Syrup City because she wants to be a positive representative of the program and her hometown. She believes Cairo is a small but mighty community filled with opportunity, and she hopes to inspire younger generations to dream big, work hard, and believe they can achieve their wildest goals.

โœจ Meet Contestant #3, Finley Ray.

Finley Ray is the 16-year-old daughter of Brannen Ray and Jami West. A rising junior at Cairo High School, she plans to attend college and pursue a degree in education with a focus on agricultural sciences, combining her passion for learning with her love for agriculture and community involvement.

From Ochlocknee, Finley is passionate about baton twirling, helping others, and staying active in her community. She is a dedicated student leader who serves as Vice President of Student Council, a student ambassador, a member of the Future Farmers of America, and is involved in 4-H and the Modified Trap Shotgun Team.

Finleyโ€™s commitment to excellence has earned her numerous honors, including the Anna Lowry Character Education Award, Fellowship of Christian Athletes Member of the Year, Most Dependable Award, and membership in the National Honor Society. She is also active in her church youth group and regularly participates in community service projects through the Cairo Youth Council and Key Club.

Finley hopes to become Miss Syrup City because of her deep love for her community and the values it represents. Having grown up in the Grady County School System, she is honored by the opportunity to give back, serve as a positive role model, and represent her hometown with pride and confidence.

โœจ Meet Contestant #2, Lily Gainous.

Lily Gainous is the 17-year-old daughter of Chad and Joy Gainous. A rising senior at Cairo High School, Lily plans to attend University of North Georgia, where she hopes to major in Biology or Chemistry. Following college, she plans to attend medical school and pursue a career specializing in cardiothoracic surgery.

Dedicated to both academics and service, Lily has earned recognition as a Georgia Certificate of Merit recipient, a Governorโ€™s Honors Program nominee, and an Honors student. She is passionate about learning and strives to excel both inside and outside the classroom.

An active member of her church community, Lily enjoys serving others and recently volunteered at a Christian summer camp. In her free time, she stays busy playing three sports, reading, and creating crafts.

Lily would be honored to serve as Miss Syrup City because the values represented by the program closely align with her own. She hopes to use the opportunity to be a positive representative of the program and the community she loves.

โœจ Meet Contestant #1, Trinity Paschal.

Trinity Paschal is the 17-year-old daughter of Raymond and Carlotte Paschal. A rising senior at Cairo High School, Trinity plans to attend Valdosta State University and pursue a degree in Musical Theatre, with dreams of a career on the stage.

An active leader both in and out of school, Trinity currently serves as captain of the Move Makers Dance Team after spending the previous two years as co-captain. She is also involved in Syrup Singers, Stage Makers, TOSAC, and Cairo Mainstage. Through these organizations, she has developed a passion for performance, leadership, and serving others.

In addition to her extracurricular involvement, Trinity has earned recognition for her achievements in theater, including a second-place finish in Regional Literary Competition. She enjoys supporting local arts programs and participating in community theater productions.

Trinity hopes that earning the title of Miss Syrup City will allow her to open more doors for volunteer opportunities, connect with others in the community, and continue making a positive impact while pursuing her passion for the performing arts.
