Miss Syrup City Scholarship Program ๐™ผ๐š˜๐šž๐š•๐š’๐š— ๐“ก๐“ธ๐“พ๐“ฐ๐“ฎ: 2026 Miss Syrup City Scholarship Pageant: June 5th @ 7:00 p.m. in the CHS Auditorium Thank you.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Contestants must be 16-19 at the time of competition OR a rising junior by June 9, 2023. This applies to rising seniors, graduating seniors, or first year college students. As long as contestants who place Queen or Court commit tot he required appearances during their reign. Contestants must reside in and/or attend school in Grady County (Cairo High School), or be homeschooled in Grady County. Must be involved in any extracurricular activity in Cairo/Grady County (volunteer organization, sports, club, or fine arts โ€” if you have any questions, please let us know!)

โœจ Meet Contestant #8, EmaLee Gainous.

EmaLee Gainous is the 17-year-old daughter of Tommy and Amanda Gainous and a rising senior at Cairo High School. After graduation, she plans to attend Valdosta State University, where she hopes to pursue a degree in Speech Pathology and make a difference in the lives of others through communication and education.

An active student and leader, EmaLee is involved in numerous organizations, including Syrup City Performing Arts, National Honor Society, Cairo Youth Council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Key Club, Helping Hands, MAT Girls, and Stage Makers. Through these activities, she has developed a passion for service, leadership, and community involvement. EmaLee has been recognized for her academic achievements as a recipient of the Georgia Certificate of Merit for the Class of 2027. She is committed to excellence both in the classroom and in the organizations she serves.

Outside of school, EmaLee gives back to her community as a unified partner with the Grady County Special Olympics, serves with Jackie Robinson Boys and Girls Club of Grady County, and volunteers with the Grady County Sheriffโ€™s Office. Her dedication to helping others reflects her compassionate spirit and strong sense of community.

EmaLee is excited to participate in Miss Syrup City because it is a new experience that will allow her to meet new people, build friendships, and grow as an individual. She looks forward to learning more about pageantry while representing her community with pride.

โœจ Meet Contestant #7, Najah Saadiq.

Najah Saadiq is the 17-year-old daughter of Khalil Saadiq and Chantrell Bruton. She is a rising senior at Cairo High School with a passion for service, leadership, and making a difference in the lives of others. Following graduation, she plans to major in Neuroscience before attending medical school, where she hopes to become a Family Rural Health Physician.

Najahโ€™s leadership and academic accomplishments include being selected as a Youth LEAD Georgia delegate at the University of Georgia and representing her community as a Washington Youth Tour delegate. These opportunities have strengthened her commitment to leadership, service, and civic engagement.

Dedicated to giving back, Najah has completed more than 100 volunteer hours at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital and an additional 50 volunteer hours with Hands On Thomas County. Her passion for serving others reflects her desire to make a meaningful impact both locally and beyond.

Najah hopes to become Miss Syrup City because she wants to represent her community through kindness, leadership, and service. To her, the title is more than a crownโ€”it is an opportunity to inspire others, give back to the community she loves, and proudly showcase all that Cairo stands for.

โœจ Meet Contestant #6, Laramie Reneau.

Laramie Reneau is the 17-year-old daughter of James Wight and LaDonna Thomas. She is a rising senior at Cairo High School. While she is still exploring the path she is most passionate about, she plans to continue her education after graduation and is excited to discover where her future will lead. No matter where that journey takes her, Laramie hopes to make a positive impact along the way.

Known by her friends as โ€œLarry,โ€ Laramie enjoys a wide variety of music, ranging from Drake to Pearl Jam. She is also a proud member of the Cairo High School Varsity Golf Team and is thrilled to be participating in this yearโ€™s Miss Syrup City Scholarship Program.

Laramie has earned numerous academic and extracurricular honors, including being named a Georgia Merit Scholar, qualifying for the state golf tournament for two consecutive years,receiving the Julien B. Roddenbery Literary Award, and earning a scholarship from the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts. She is also a member of the National Honor Society and has consistently maintained Honor Roll status throughout high school.

Outside of school, Laramie enjoys serving her community through her churchโ€™s childrenโ€™s ministry at Pine Level. She also volunteers with her schoolโ€™s Makers Market, assists in the school store, and participates in the annual Autism Awareness Family Fun Day event.

Laramie hopes to become Miss Syrup City so she can serve as a positive example for younger students and encourage them to get involved in the many unique opportunities their school and community have to offer. She looks forward to making the most of her senior year while continuing to inspire others through leadership, involvement, and service.
