Got to spend a day exploring the holy city on a work trip. A lot of history here. It was interesting walking around and going back in time. A real eye opener to be able to talk to the people living here to get a better understanding of the region.

For those of us who have laid brothers and sisters in arms to rest, stood in too many roll calls, attended too many funerals and carried too many caskets we will never forget our nations sacrifice of its sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, mothers and fathers who laid down their lives for their country and fellow man.

It’s our responsibility to never let them, their selfless service and ultimate sacrifice defending the constitution and country to be forgotten by others who may not have known or known of them.

Take the time this weekend to tell others of the hero’s we lost. Honor their sacrifice over a drink, cigar or simply get together to remember them. It’s our responsibility to them to live our lives the best we can and try to always appreciate how good we have it.

Regardless if they were a close friend, relative or in the same unit don’t let them be forgotten.

The coins are those of units I’ve served in that has lost its members during combat operations with exception to the state department.

The reality of austere driving is that unforeseen things happen to you or you run into those who need assistance. Learning how to conduct a safe vehicle roll over is an essential skill when you can only depend on what you can do in the field with limited resources.

Students are earning how to upright a vehicle on its side using a controlled method using two vehicles with and with out using the winches.

They were taught how to belay a vehicle over using recovery gear and the X-lock that comes in their 20k recovery kit.

Heading out with the students on day two. To start basic driving techniques.
overland and are the only two companies in WV who are members and certified trainers in the International Four Wheel Drive Trainers Association. Theirs a lot of guide companies out there, but few with the knowledge and experience to train and transfer the proper knowledge to those who will depend on it.
