We are thrilled to share!

Harrison Hills City School District will reach a major financial milestone on Nov. 1, 2026, when it pays off its building bond approximately 28 years ahead of schedule.

At its regular meeting on September 30, the Board of Education approved a resolution authorizing the final steps to complete the payoff. The action delivers on the early retirement plan announced last year and brings the district’s building bond debt to a close.

The resolution calls for approximately $5.54 million to be transferred from the Capital Projects Fund to the Debt Retirement Fund by Oct. 30. Combined with money already set aside, the district will have approximately $7.57 million available for the final payment. The transfer will be adjusted based on funds already available.

Last year’s plan called for an $18.5 million payment followed by payment of the remaining debt by 2027. The Nov. 1 payoff completes that plan sooner than initially announced and fulfills the Board’s commitment to easing the tax burden for district residents.

The district’s separate maintenance levy will remain in place to support the continued upkeep of school facilities.

Students and staff across campus wore camouflage Friday in memory of Carter, an Indian Creek fourth grader who recently passed away. Carter dreamed of serving in the military, and our Huskies were proud to honor his life and show support for his family, classmates and the Indian Creek community.

Today, Harrison Central students paused to recognize Patriot Day and remember the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001.

Students in grades 5–12 watched this remembrance video, created by Harrison Central students, to reflect on the events of that day and honor the courage of the first responders and everyday Americans who helped others.

We are proud of the care and thought our students put into this meaningful tribute. We invite our families and community to watch the video below.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.
